We are getting closer to being ready

Our tentative departure date is only 12 days away. Will we be ready? Good question that we will have an answer to on July 3. We have crossed a couple of big items off the list. On June 8, we did our road test for our D licenses and both of us passed! For me, it took a lot of practice backing a bus into a 12 foot wide by 50 foot slot on a 90 degree angle. I felt a weight lifted from my shoulders when the examiner said I had passed.

The other big job was getting the exoskeleton on the Jeep so that we can carry the canoe. It took a full day but it was well worth the effort. It looks quite sharp and it makes it fairly effortless to load the canoe.

The side cameras have been mounted and the new monitor installed in the cab. We are in the process of installing the rear view camera. It is much smaller than the original camera so Lawrie is fabricating a cover that will allow us to use the original wiring and slot without it looking like an afterthought.

There is a long list of little jobs that need to be done on the motorhome. The crops are all in and sprayed and although Lawrie has desk work to do for Bridge Gap, plant visits are completed. I am trying to get details completed on three tour groups that are requiring attention before we leave. And to top it off, the agency year end is the end of June so I want to get that all done before we leave instead of waiting until mid-September for the end of September filing date.
